VILLAGE PALOS VERDES EXTERIOR RENOVATION PROJECT

MONTHLY UPDATE from DESIGN BUILD ASSOCIATES, INC.

As you may have noticed this past two weeks, we are in the pre-construction phase of the renovation project.  Asbestos testing has been completed and quantities of exterior surface materials are being confirmed by physical verification.  The architect has been working on the design components that will be incorporated into the plans to eliminate the myriad of existing water intrusion conditions which presently exist. At the direction of the Board, the focus is to use sustainable materials that are not susceptible to accelerated degradation due to ultraviolet light, moisture issues (ocean influence), and pests, and that also offer some fire-resistance.

The Board made a unanimous decision to hire Professional Services Construction, Inc. (PSC) as the general contractor.  (This took place after a unanimous endorsement from the Exterior Renovation Committee.)  PSC has already begun working with us and the architect in a team effort to craft the very best recommendations to the Board.

WHAT'S GOING TO HAPPEN NEXT?

By the end of July or the early part of August, the team expects to have the majority of information needed to present to the homeowners the final design of the buildings, the project costs, preliminary project schedule, and the associated amount of the special assessment.
