Effective January 2007 only oversized vehicles owned by Torrance residents and registered with the City of Torrance are allowed to park on city streets.  On July 1st daily parking permits for oversized vehicles will be required for Torrance residents, as well as vehicle registration through the DMV.  Any non-compliant vehicles will be towed. 

 

      

       South High School

       City Council Meeting

Tuesday, April 17 the Torrance City Council will hold a meeting at the South High School Gymnasium in an effort to have meetings outside of City Hall.  The meeting will start at 7 PM.  At the conclusion of their regular business meeting, the Council will conduct an outreach workshop.  Residents will also have the opportunity to give input regarding the City’s two-year budget for 2007-09.

 

 

           The Tree Shrink

If you are having tree “issues” with your neighbors west of P.V. Blvd. over their trees, the City of Torrance provides mediation services through the Environmental Department: 310.618.5929

City Trees?  Same number, but ask for the Public Works Department.

                  Library

I don’t know how many of you know that there is a Library a few streets away.  El Retiro Library is located inside the El Retiro Park.  On Tuesday, April 24 at 7PM they will be conducting a workshop called “Together We Prepare”, presented by The Red Cross.  They will educate us on what we need to do to protect our families prior to a major disaster.  Admission is FREE.    Come early, seating is limited.  Call 310.618.5964
